ABOUT ON THE SET

On The Set Summer Film Camp teaches the full realm of filmmaking to kids between the ages of 8 to18. The campers go on location and are placed on a live action set to produce a short film that stars a real Hollywood actor.

One of the primary objectives of On The Set Summer Film Camp is to enlighten our participants on the skills, techniques and studies of movie making in an attempt to reach the goal of creating a clear path to becoming a successful writer, producer, cinematographer, production crew member or actor in the video/film industry.

On The Set Summer Film Camp utilizes proven professionals as instructors and mentors during the learning process. In previous years, our campers displayed a clear understanding of the process by effectively carrying out their assigned duties. The successful completion of those projects are confirmation that our method of isolating each step of the course of action should be a continued practice for every summer.

It is our plan to reach higher and higher each year for the very best mentors and instructors for our summer camp to stay relevant and competitive; and most importantly expose our kids to the paramount of what this industry has to offer.

David Tucker, Jr and Marlon Whitfield

Peep This Actors-Directors Guild is the non-profit organization that presents On The Set Summer Film Camp. The Actors-Directors Guild was created and established by David Tucker, Jr. in 2007. David became the first person in the State of Alabama to write, direct, produce and sell a film into national distribution in year 2000. David was the first African American to be appointed to the previous Birmingham Jefferson Film Commission and sold his 2nd feature film, “Magic City” to Carmike Theaters in 2005. David was also selected as the Executive Director and Producer of the documentary “FIFTY”, which chronicles historical events of the Birmingham City Council during the Civil Rights Movement.

Tucker saw the vision to expand and offer opportunities to youth outside of Birmingham. He partnered with Marlon Whitfield to bring On The Set to St. Louis.

Marlon has been in the entertainment industry for over a decade working with various artist such as Nelly, Amber Rose and Faison Love. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Avila University and has put together a dream team of St. Louis producers, directors and writers who have worked with a variety of networks such as BET, VH1 and Revolt TV. Marlon is excited to take On The Set Summer Film Camp to new levels.
